What We Offer

Areas of Practice

Each matter is different. We begin by understanding yours.

Adoption Procedure Counsel

A patient service for individuals and couples pursuing the legal recognition of an adoption — domestic or with a cross-border element. We begin with a careful intake conversation, then prepare documentation and coordinate with the relevant Thai authorities.

  • Domestic and international adoption pathways
  • Document preparation and coordination
  • Attendance support at procedural steps
฿18,500 Enquire
Property Division Counsel

Property Division Counsel

A focused service for separating couples who need to address the practical division of shared property — the home, joint accounts, vehicles, and any business interests held jointly. We work from a written inventory and structured discussion before any external step is taken.

  • Written inventory and valuation review
  • Structured framework for division
  • Resolution pathways discussed before escalation
฿14,800 Enquire
Long-Term Family Counsel

Long-Term Family Counsel

A standing engagement for families who anticipate ongoing legal questions over time — succession planning, property arrangements, and significant decisions. Structured around regular written reviews and availability for consultation, rather than per-matter billing.

Why Families Choose Us

Counsel that listens before it acts

Careful Intake

Every matter begins with a detailed conversation. We do not assume the contours of your situation until we have heard it directly from you.

Thorough Documentation

We handle paperwork with precision — from initial filings through final orders — reducing the administrative burden on families during difficult periods.

Cross-Border Familiarity

Families with arrangements across multiple jurisdictions find our counsel particularly suited to their circumstances. We are familiar with how Thai law intersects with international frameworks.

Non-Pressuring Approach

We provide clear information and considered options. The decisions remain yours. We do not push toward any particular outcome beyond what serves your family's interests.

Confidentiality as Standard

Family legal matters are deeply personal. All information shared with us is held with professional discretion and full legal confidentiality obligations.

Steady Guidance Over Time

For families with ongoing legal questions, continuity of counsel matters. Our long-term engagement model is designed for situations that unfold over months or years, not single transactions.

Ready to Begin

Would you like to talk through your situation?

There is no obligation in reaching out. An initial conversation helps us understand whether our services are the right fit, and gives you a clearer sense of what the process looks like.

Common Questions

Questions Families Often Ask

How do we begin working with Bua Counsel?
The starting point is a consultation — either in person at our Chiang Mai office or by arrangement for remote clients. We spend time understanding your specific circumstances before discussing how we might assist. There is no commitment required at that stage.
How long does an adoption procedure typically take in Thailand?
Timelines vary considerably depending on the type of adoption and the specific circumstances. Domestic adoptions tend to move differently from those with a cross-border element, which may involve coordination with foreign authorities. We will give you a realistic assessment after reviewing your particular situation.
We are not yet separated — can we still discuss property matters with you?
Yes. Some couples find it helpful to understand the framework and their options before a formal separation. Speaking with a legal adviser at an early stage can reduce uncertainty and help you make more informed decisions about the path ahead.
What does the Long-Term Family Counsel engagement include?
It is a standing arrangement rather than a per-matter arrangement. It includes scheduled written reviews of your family's legal position, availability for consultation as questions arise, and continuity of counsel across the matters that are relevant to your situation — succession, property, and significant decisions over time.
Do you work with families based outside Thailand?
We work with families whose arrangements have connections to Thailand — whether or not all family members are based here. Consultations can be arranged remotely. Where attendance in Thailand is required for procedural steps, we will explain this clearly in advance.
How are fees structured?
Our service fees are listed on the Solutions page. For the Adoption and Property Division services, fees are set per engagement. The Long-Term Family Counsel engagement is priced as a standing arrangement. We are transparent about what is and is not included before any engagement begins.
